The crane industry encompasses a variety of crane types used in different applications. Each crane type has specific requirements for hydraulic systems to meet the high loads and special operating conditions on site. Montanhydraulik offers customized hydraulic solutions for all crane types, convincing with their reliability and performance.
Mobile cranes, for example, are the all-rounders on construction sites. They must be able to lift heavy loads and maneuver precisely. Therefore, the hydraulic systems must be powerful, reliable, and at the same time light and compact. For these devices, Montanhydraulik supplies safety-relevant components such as telescopic, luffing, and support cylinders, hydraulic accumulator cylinders, and rotary unions, which have been developed in close cooperation with customers. The range includes both the small city crane with lifting capacities of 25 tons and the nine-axle large crane with lifting capacities up to 1,200 tons and boom lengths up to 100 meters.
The requirements for the various cylinders range from weight optimization, which requires the use and processing of very thin-walled tubes, to suitability for low temperatures, where the cylinders must work reliably and safely.
Single and multi-stage telescopic cylinders with internal oil supply and lowering brake valves, which Montanhydraulik has developed specifically for this application, are exemplary of the company's know-how.
The largest all-terrain cranes are not only the most powerful telescopic cranes but also have the longest telescopic booms, measuring more than 100 meters. Therefore, they are optimally suited for the construction of wind turbines. The cylinder technology for this type of all-terrain crane comes from Montanhydraulik.
LTM mobile cranes provide the maximum in terms of mobility: They travel at up to 80 km/h and because of their dimensions are extremely agile. The nine-axle LTM 11200-9.1 All-Terrain crane is not only the strongest telescopic crane, but it also has the longest telescopic boom at 100 m, and is therefore optimally designed for the erection of wind turbines.
The cylinder technology for the LTM mobile crane originates from Montanhydraulik. Four support cylinders which push the boom upwards and hold it in place make it possible to install the telescopic boom and to hold it in place without an auxiliary crane. The low loader can thus drive away under the boom before the crane mount is bolted to the boom.

The LHM product range includes flexibly operable mobile harbour cranes designed for various applications, ranging from container transfer to the transport of containers, bulk materials, and general cargo. The largest mobile crane in the range, the LHM 800, lifts heavy loads of up to 308 tons.
The LHM consists of a slewing boom crane equipped with a chassis, and can perform the three main movements: Slewing, luffing, and lifting. The boom is powered by a hydraulic differential cylinder.
A further special feature, which specifically fulfils the safety requirements of the crane manufacturer, is the position of the luffing cylinder. This is positioned above the boom. This prevents cylinder damage which could arise from swinging loads or from high-stacked containers on board. Here too, the cylinder technology comes from Montanhydraulik.
