Because of our proximity to the centre of the German steel and smelting industry, we at Montanhydraulik were very early in developing into specialists for components used in steel-making and steel-processing plants.
Ladle-lifting cylinders, rotary cylinders, and rotary feed-throughs are some of the most heavily stressed elements in continuous casting plants. In these plants, liquid steel is cast in a continuous run. This is then further processed in hot and cold strip rolling plants.
Roller adjusting cylinders make it possible to maintain the precision of the strip thickness to a tenth of a millimetre. This means that the finished sheets fulfil the most demanding requirements in machine engineering and the automotive industry.

Depending on the requirements and circumstances of a construction site, pump vehicles deliver very different quantities of concrete, even to very inaccessible sites. Automatic concrete pumps with distribution mast systems are nowadays the standard in building construction and civil engineering. In order to be approved for use in road traffic, the boom must be extremely light in construction, and flexible.
For this, the safety-related mast cylinders must fulfil the highest standards of design and manufacturing. The features which characterise these cylinders include their durable construction, the welding of highly resistant steels by certified personnel, special coating processes, and the use of composite materials to reduce weight.

An Airbus A380 weighs at least 600 t. To move this weight rapidly, safely, and flexibly requires an extremely hard-wearing aircraft tractor, for which Montanhydraulik, together with its customer, developed a hydraulic chassis cylinder.
In spite of the restricted chassis geometry and the related high transverse forces, this cylinder had to exactly maintain the set chassis level and thus also the ground clearance when raising the aircraft, and during travel.
Through the structure and the performance of a simulation as well as comprehensive test drives, it was possible to further optimise the chassis of the AST 1-X aircraft tractor, which does not have a towbar.
