Taking responsibility in challenging times
Sustainability at Montanhydraulik
Our understanding of responsible behaviour
We at Montanhydraulik are aware of our responsibility - our influence on developments today and for the generations of tomorrow. Short-term, proactive action and long-term thinking are an integral part of our corporate culture. We want to help shape the dynamic and challenging future and contribute to sustainable ecological, social and societal development with our products and solutions. Because we at Montanhydraulik believe that, as part of society, we must also make our contribution.
Our commitment to a sustainable future extends to numerous areas, including reducing energy requirements, reducing the carbon footprint, promoting the circular economy and optimising resource requirements. We are committed to protecting the environment, minimising waste and establishing a sustainable supply chain with binding sustainability requirements for our partners. At the same time, we promote occupational health and safety, the health and well-being of our employees and take a responsible approach to our social responsibility.
All three dimensions of sustainability are taken into account in our daily decisions and actions: Environment, Social, Governance (ESG).
We focus on three-dimensional value creation that takes economic, social and ecological perspectives into account. Our aim is to promote a balance between these three dimensions in order to ensure our contribution to sustainable development.
In order to fulfil our responsibility along the supply chain, we act transparently and proactively. Employees and external stakeholders can use our digital complaints portal to confidentially submit information about possible misconduct at any time - directly to our Chief Compliance Officer. Every report is carefully examined in order to consistently prevent misconduct and achieve sustainable improvements. Find out more in our policy statement or use our complaints portal.
Sustainability is more than just a trend - it's a commitment. We are constantly working to optimise our processes, reduce our carbon footprint and drive sustainable innovation.

Montanhydraulik - Enabler of the energy transition
Our products and solutions play a decisive role in the fight against climate change and are a key enabler of the energy transition. The growing global demand for energy faces one of the most important challenges of our time: reducing emissions of climate-damaging gases. Our hydraulic cylinders and systems are indispensable components in numerous applications that enable the expansion of renewable energies and contribute to decarbonisation.
Our cylinders are also used in other sustainable technologies. In wave power plants, they make it possible to utilise the kinetic energy of the sea to generate electricity. In the field of flood protection, they are an integral part of protection systems that protect coastal regions and urban areas from flooding - an increasingly important factor in the face of growing extreme weather events.
Montanhydraulik repair & service as a decisive sustainability factor
We maximise the life cycle of our products and systems
Instead of scrapping hydraulic cylinders once they have reached the end of their service life, Montanhydraulik Reparatur & Service focusses on sustainable reconditioning. Worn components are replaced in a targeted manner, cylinders are completely overhauled and brought up to date. This saves valuable resources and contributes to an environmentally friendly circular economy.
Our repairs and services are not only an economical alternative to a new purchase in the event of regular wear and tear, but also in the event of damage caused by external influences such as collisions or high load peaks. Instead of a complete replacement, we offer customised repairs - efficient, resource-saving and sustainable.
Montanhydraulik offers a worldwide repair service for its own and third-party cylinders. Our range of services extends from detailed diagnosis, repair and sample production to on-time delivery. Thanks to our many years of expertise and state-of-the-art processes, we significantly extend the service life of cylinders and reduce the environmental impact - for a sustainable and responsible industry.

Compliance at Montanhydraulik
Certified compliance system: the cornerstone of our economic and sustainable actions
Compliance means adhering to all legal requirements as well as internal company guidelines and ethical standards. It forms the basis for responsible and sustainable business practices. We take our responsibility seriously, and our certified compliance system in accordance with IDW PS 980, ISO 19600:2016 and ISO 37301:2021 emphasises this and forms a central cornerstone of our actions.
Montanhydraulik plays a pioneering role in this area among medium-sized companies. Our system ensures that all legal and ethical requirements are met and promotes a corporate culture based on transparency, integrity and responsibility. This not only strengthens the trust of our customers, partners and employees, but also ensures the long-term stability of our company.
To ensure that violations can be recognised and addressed at an early stage, we have set up a whistleblower portal. Here, employees and external stakeholders can contact our Chief Compliance Officer in confidence at any time - whether for complaints, information on breaches of regulations or general queries on the topic of compliance. Below you will find our contact persons for your enquiry.

Material compliance - Our commitment to the highest material standards
Montanhydraulik has been using a modern material compliance system since summer 2023 in order to meet the increasing requirements of the REACh Regulation and the Waste Framework Directive. This is also our response to the growing social awareness of critical substances in products.
The REACh Regulation obliges companies to inform customers about substances of very high concern (SVHC) in products as soon as their concentration exceeds 0.1 per cent by mass. In addition, corresponding articles must be registered in a database of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in order to enable safe ejection from the material cycle.
To implement these requirements efficiently, Montanhydraulik uses a specialised SAP module that records the relevant substance information directly in the material master. This ensures seamless customer communication and enables the creation of the required ECHA dossiers. Sustainability and the protection of people and the environment are our top priorities. We have therefore appointed a Material Compliance Officer (MCO) to monitor the recording and processing of all relevant data. He is also available to advise customers and employees.
