Montanhydraulik GmbH meets stricter requirements in the area of the REACh regulation and the Waste Framework Directive, as well as an increased social awareness for substances of concern, with the introduction of a modern Material Compliance System.
The REACh regulation names Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), which are to be continuously removed from the material cycle in accordance with the new Waste Framework Directive. On the one hand, customers must be informed of substances of very high concern with more than 0.1 percent by mass without being asked to do so in accordance with Article 33 of the REACh Regulation. On the other hand, information – a so-called dossier – must be created about the produced article in a database of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) if it contains SVHC. This dossier is used to enable waste recyclers to divert the product from the cycle, as they can identify all critical, incorporated components via the product to be recycled.
To meet the new challenges and the increased customer interest in sustainability, Montanhydraulik GmbH has introduced a modern SAP module that records all relevant information on substances of concern in the material database. This not only ensures that customers are informed in accordance with Article 33 of the REACh Regulation, but also allows the required dossiers to be created at the ECHA by accessing the information in the material database.
The topic of sustainability and the avoidance of hazards for people and the environment are very important to Montanhydraulik. For this reason, we have established a Material Compliance Officer (MCO) in the company specifically for this topic. He supervises the recording of all relevant information in the system and the preparation of the dossiers. In addition, he is available as a contact person for customers and employees.
