In opencast mining, both stationary and (semi-)mobile construction machines are deployed. Montanhydraulik produces robust, reliable and high-quality hydraulic cylinders for the wide range of construction machines. Starting with bucket over stick cylinders and boom cylinders through to shovel cylinders for large excavators up to various hydraulic cylinders for mobile opencast crushing systems on crawlers. In such crushing systems, the cylinders fulfil, among other things, the function of directly crushing the material excavated on the quarrying site and of conveying it away continuously and in a way that saves resources.
In underground coal mining – in particular in longwall mining – hydraulic shield supports are used worldwide which have established themselves as best practice. Montanhydraulik designs and supplies the necessary hydraulic cylinders, which have to withstand the extremely high safety requirements and the underground environment. The largest double-telescopic legs manufactured by Montanhydraulik, bronzed due to the aggressive environment, have an extended length of more than 8 meters and can thus contribute to the ideal mining of the largest longwall face in the world.
The largest excavators, which are preferable used in opencast mining, can load 52 m³ with a single stroke, which is about 100 tons of stone or the volume of a living room with an area of 21 m². For this kind of excavators with an operating weight of nearly 1,000 tons, Montanhydraulik designs and delivers the most important cylinders like boom cylinders, flap cylinders and stick cylinders
